Super cute and fun boy word book

This is probably my favorite boy word album to date. I made this for a neighbor who loves hand made items.
Instead of ribbons on the binder rings, I used sports beads, a zipper pull embellishment and some boy themed charms. The paper is All About Boys by DCWV and recollections cardstock.

This is a chipboard embellishment from k&co.

The blue jean looking photo mats are re-purposed cardboard from a sticker package.

I made a lot of interactive pages in this book. Here I have tucked a journaling tag behind the photo mats

I loved this part of the paper so I cut this page out first on generic paper and then slid the cowboy paper underneath template and cut again.

These next two photo's I used stickers from the paper pack and mounted them on cardstock. Each page has a pull out for photo's

here is the pull out photo mat

These next two pages turned out so cool between the embossing and the phillips screw brads to the gatefold closure--it really makes for a fun interactive page.

Here are the pages opened up. There are journaling tags and room for photo's

I used some very old tiny ric rac that I believe was from my grandmother! I had the little metal license plates in my stash and used another sticker from the paper pack and put it on the journaling tag that is peeking out of the photo mat.

This is the last page. I didn't take a photo of the page opposite it but it is set up the same way.  These lift up to expose photo mats and tags as you will see in the next picture.

Another wordbook

I made this wordbook for my daughter's friend. I just love the new K&Co flora and fauna paper pack--gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous!
I wanted to put more interactive pages in this but only had two days and this is what I was able to complete. Have you ever had a project that you really hated parting with--this fell into that category for me!
Supplies:
Cricut hello kitty font; walk in my garden; george and basic shapes
cuttlebug swiss dot folder on top letters
K&Co flora and fauna paper; classic k charlotte pack; and best of brenda walton
fussy cut two of the butterflies from the paper
metal embellishments are misc from stash
flat back pearls
Martha Stewart butterfly punch; swirling lace punch around the page
Fiskars lace border punch
generic small leaf punch; scallop punch
prima flowers
ribbon from michaels
stardust stickles
diamond dust
Tim Holtz vintage photo ink

The butterfly on the "J" was stickled then dipped in diamond dust. I scraped some of it back off because it covered up to much of the detail in the butterfly.
fussy cut leaves from best of brenda walton paper
I cut out this bird from flora and fauna paper and it pulls out for either journaling on the back or a photo
The white flower was fussy cut from the flora and fauna paper and then I went over all the petals with a micron pen to bring out the detail. This lifts up for two photo and I also slipped a tag behind it for more photos and/or journaling. Cricut walk in my garden for butterfly

The lace on these next two pages is from a generic pack I bought at the dollar store and it is so delicate and girly--love it!
Here I left a couple of blank boxes for journaling.
This is just a close-up of one of the metal flowers.

Where in the world did March go!!!!!!!!!

Wow, this has been a crazy, busy month for me! The next few months will also be a whirlwind. I hope to get to all the blogs that I love to visit so much and get caught up on all the fantastic happenings that I know all of you have been up to! I miss visiting everyone!
I didn't get a chance to do any layouts in the last three weeks but had to squeeze in some gifts and softball projects. Here are two of my bigger projects wrapped into one post.
This first project I just finished is a paperbag album for my neighbor who is having a baby boy within the next month. Each month has a coordinating journaling tag that tucks away behind the photo mat. We all know how busy that first year is and I thought how wonderful it would be for her to have a little book all ready for a picture each month. They grow and change so fast! Her shower was this past weekend and she adored this little book. I made a similiar one for a baby girl last year, but like this one much better!
