Vintage Santa Placemats

I made these cute vintage Santa placemats for my kitchen table. They would also be really cute hanging on the wall or even used on a coffee table or accent table. I bought the 12" doilies and bouquets of gold and maroon flowers at the Dollar Tree. I printed the beautiful vintage Santa from the Graphics Fairy.blogspot.com and cut out the image and inked all the edges ever so lightly. I added stickles (glitter glue) in red, green, blue and yellow all over the doily, pulled apart some the the flowers and leaves and then laced a ribbon through a button.

This layout is for the 11/26 sketch challenge going on over at stuckonusketches. I have absolutely loved the last two sketches by Ness. I did two of the last sketch and never got them uploaded to my blog. Between five other layouts, three cards and other projects going on and camera not cooperating, maybe I will get them posted some other time.

Fun Fall Placemats

Cookingwithcricut challenge #4 is The colors of fall so I decided to make some cute placemats for my table. These were so much fun to make and added some zip to my boring table! Fantabulous cricut challenge #35 is to use the color green and a circle on your project, so I am linking this project there also.

Happy Haunting

This layout is for the 10/29 sketch challenge over at stuckonusketches. Every year we usually go to this one haunted house that has a different theme each year. This year was "The Death Academy" and they handed out these cute "Class Schedules" that I included in my layout. I got a kick out of my daughters dressing as a doctor with a short blond wig and the other a nurse.

Halloween Cupcakes

Happy Halloween to everyone out in blog land! I made these yummy and cute devils food cupcakes with homemade cream cheese frosting. Being a huge fan of cupcakes, I love the cricut cupcake wrappers. Linking this up to www.cookingwithcricut.blogspot.com Halloween-not so spooky challenge. The frosting recipe is posted at the bottom for anyone that would like it.

I made little boxes from an scal file shared on craftedge forum and glued saran wrap on the inside window.

Here is the Cream Cheese Frosting recipe if you would like:

8 oz. package of cream cheese (make sure it is not fat free or lite)

1/4 cup butter softened (1/2 stick) (do not use margarine)

1 tsp vanilla

1 box powdered sugar

mix first three ingredients very well; slowly add in the box of powdered sugar a little at a time; mixing well after each addition.

2 Kool Katz

Well I am still in a Halloween mode. This layout is of my husband and youngest daughter three years ago. My husband dressed up in this red velvet pantsuit with matching hat and the platform boots from the 70's! I haven't cried with laughter like that in a long time.

My daughter had a pink feather hat and boa--too funny!

This qualifies for the Halloween-not so spooky challenge at Cooking with Cricut

Cricut: October 31st for the two black cats at the bottom-trimmed a little and gave them teal flat back pearl eyes and inked the edges with white.

Martha Stewart: arched lattice border punch on white patterned paper.

Font is Casau cut with scal and inked the edges with white and added purple flat back pearls.

The lattice work is a series of cuts with a craft knife and then folded back under each other(template from Debbie Dodd ) and added flat back pearls

I added strips of striped paper down the sides and of course more flat back pearls. I finished off the layout by inking the outer edges of black background paper with white ink.

Fish Derby

This layout is for the 10/15 sketch challenge going on over at sous. When my children we young, we used to go to the annual fish derby hosted by the boy scouts. It became a favorite family tradition for many years.

I have sort of been in a Halloween mood so decided to go with that theme. My camera doesn't photograph glittery stuff very well.

This is a picture of my youngest daughter back in 1997. My sister made the rainbow brite costume and my brother-in-law and husband made all the yard decorations.

close-up of medallion. I cut this five times-once in chipboard, four times in the purple paper and then for the top three purple layers I cut off the outer ring(s) so I could ink the edges of each layer. I popped the finished piece with foam dots to give in more dimension on the page.

First Birthday, opening page, closing page and diaper cakes

Here are the final layouts for the first year albums. I finished them last Saturday and had to make a card and a diaper cake so I am just now getting to post them. The boy album and diaper cake were given to my niece this weekend and the girl one I will give this weekend.

So this layout is the First Birthday.

This is the girl one. I couldn't find pink baby booties so I added more ribbon at the top and pink pom poms along the tray.

OCTOBER:

This is the girl page, the boy page is exactly the same minus the bow on the ghost. paper doll dress up for the ghost trick or treater, the pumpkin and the "trick or treat" bag which lifts off the page and serves as the journaling tag for this layout. I cut the fence from pddu in white paper then hit cut again but replaced blade with marker and then glimmer misted. The fence looks so cool in person! The little owl in the bottom right is from an embossed sticker sheet.

OMG! OMG!-The beautiful paper arrived!

The absolutely gorgeous paper I won over at Stuckonusketches has arrived and it is truly yummy!!!! Thank you so much Sandi, Nanne and Leah for this Glitz paper-can't wait to scrap some pages with it!

May-First Year Albums

This is the May layout for the baby albums. I used the 9/3 sketch over at stuckonusketches. I made mine a double page layout because it represents Mothers Day for the albums I am making and three of the months in the albums will have double page layouts (Mothers Day, Fathers Day and First Birthday). I really struggled with the flowers on this layout and just when I had EVERYTHING glued down and pictures taken to upload I felt as though the original flowers got lost in the page so I yanked them all off (yikes, I know) and made these. Don't know if I am completely happy but gotta keep truckin along as I still have six more months to do and only two weeks left. The beautiful leafy vine is from what-a-beautiful-mess.blogspot.com cut out, hand doodled the veins in the leaves and then glimmer misted.

The journaling card which is also a "Happy Mothers Day" card. I cut out the flower on the front from some of the left over paper and put stickles on the dark lines throughout.
