Layout using my $4.99 cart!

This layout is for the April 1st sketch challenge over at stuckonusketches. I bought several cricut cartridges on clearance a couple months ago for $4.99 and $9.99. One of the carts for 4.99 was Elegant Cakes. I used it to cut the bottom scalloped border in cream cardstock and the swirly vines in cream cardstock then glimmer misted the swirly vines in green. There are so many great cuts on this cart not to mention a beautiful font! I water misted the plum background paper and smooshed the edges while it was still damp, let it dry then inked.

Supplies:

cricut carts: Elegant cakes for the scallop border @ 1" that was welded together and I think the

swirly vine was cut at 3-1/4" then cut apart; George and basic shapes circle @ 8" and 7-1/4" cut out of that.

paper: patterned is K&Co best of Brenda Walton; cream and brown cardstock is recollections

plum flowers are from the dollar store floral dept. that I pulled apart.

What's the line-up?

This layout is for the March 18th sketch challenge over at stuckonusketches.blogspot.com.

I used a sunflower on this layout to represent the many many many sunflower seeds we have consumed over my daughter's thirteen years of playing softball. She wasn't actually going to play this year and realized in her heart she wasn't done playing.

I used a softball score sheet behind the photo and a player line-up sheet that I cut in strips;

February-First Year Albums

I "Love" this page! lol Here is my February layout for the baby albums. I used a sketch by Liz Qualman.

There's no cricut carts on this one, it's all scal files I created.

I printed the word "sweetheart" directly onto the background paper and the words on the sweethearts candy using the cricut and markers. (I couldn't resist making one of them say "text me")

This is the boy page and now I wish I had done both in these colors because the teal blue is so cute and could be for boy or girl--oh well next time!

and here is the super cute journaling tag. I found this image online last year and remembered it when I was doing these pages. I originally had printed something else but tried this and knew it was perfect for these layouts! Hope you enjoy these layouts as much I do!

January-First Year Albums

Boy, would I welcome some of these snowflakes today in this 100 degree weather! These are the January pages for the little albums I am making. The snowflakes are so super gorgeous irl. I cut them from jots, applied crystal stickles and then dipped them in diamond dust and then pop dotted them. (I can't stop using that diamond dust!) The "BRRRR" was cut from punches and the same treatment to them. The snow family is from winter woodland and I put 3d glaze on the hearts and buttons. The white piece of paper behind the photo mat was punched with Martha Stewart embossed snowflake border punch. Flat back pearls on the momma snowman and the girl baby snowman.

December-First Year Albums

December layout for first year albums. This is for the boy album and the girl page is the same except the rocking horse saddle and bear accents are pink. Cricut christmas for all cuts excepts photo mat is a child's year. I can not seem to get a good shot of this because of all the diamond dust on the tree and star. After I took this picture I ended up moving the bear over and added a present under the tree. Cuttlebug d'vine swirls on the moon.

November-First Year Albums

This is the next layout for the first year baby albums for my nieces. They are both due around the first week in November. I had seen a pre-made page at michaels similar to this one and that is where the design came from. I found the cute "A Child's Grace" poem online at dennydavis.net and computer generated it onto scrapbook paper.

Welcome-First Year Albums

These are the next pages in my first year albums for my nieces. Again, I used a pagemaps sketch and for these layouts the sketch called for the journaling tag right on the front of the layout. I computer generated the title; martha stewart punches for the photo mat corners and green trim; swiss dot embossing folder on the photo mats; textile embossing folder on girl shirt, tiny mosaic on boy shirt; fuzzy feet from a pack I bought at the dollar store and the button paper clip is from recollections and the babies are an svg file. Lots of inking.

Baby Shower-First Year Albums

Two of my nieces are having babies one week apart. One is having a girl and the other a boy. I have decided instead of making first year paper bag albums, I would make them each an 8x8 first year album. The photo's below are the first of twenty pages which will include little journaling tags related to the theme of that month. For these layouts I used a pagemaps feb. 2008 sketch. The middle photo mat is pop dotted so the photo's for the left and right mats will be able to slip right under.

cousins & friends

Yikes! I missed the cutoff I guess. Oh, well another layout is complete! This layout is for the 7/23 sketch over at stuckonusketches.blogspot.com. I just barely got this one done as I had a mini album I had to do.

This picture is of my daughter and two of my nieces many years ago. My niece and daughter have hung out together since babies and are like sisters.

I don't make a whole lot of 8x10 layouts but that is the size my mil and sil use. I had taken a beautiful picture of them with their dgd's & dggd's and wanted to put them in a frame to give to them. The gorgeous flower medallion looking embellishment is from a tutorial Lisa has going on over at http://www.what-a-beautiful-mess.blogspot.com/. Lisa also had a beautiful leafy vine to download. I made mine an svg and cut it out and then hand tinted it with dyes and chalks then did some doodling on it. http://www.stuckonusketches.blogspot.com/ has a button challenge this week so I incorporated them into this layout and love my finished result. I hope my mil and sil love them also.
I used storybook cricut cart for the photo mat and textile embossing folder; the font is jester using scal; fiskars border punch and paper is from the best of brenda walton by k&co.

celebrate

This layout is for the May 7th sketch at www.stuckonusketches.blogspot.com . I didn't finish it in time for the link but it feels good to have had time to play along with their sketch. Hope to get more time for layouts soon. So on to the picture.... this is of my youngest daughter on her 18th birthday. We were celebrating at Chevy's restaurant and her friend decided to do the old cupcake in the face. I really loved this sketch by Liz Qualman and finally made my first Tim Holtz grunge roses.

Easter layout

Finally finished my easter layout that will be home to my dgd's 5x7 easter bunny photo. I can't believe I worked on this off and on for weeks--oh well it's finally done!

the egg with legs poking out is an svg file that I created to resemble the quickkutz die. I then tore the top of the egg off and placed the chick face behind it.
I used fruit punch stickles on the bunny bow and butterfly; chalked the sun and chick face

Getting To The Root Of It

This is for the sketch challenge for 2/26 at http://www.stuckonusketches.blogspot.com/ by Aymee Gandy. This is one of my all time favorite pictures of my son when he was younger. He was wearing the cutest little 501 levi's and had one of my gardening tools in his hand. He is grown now and currently maintains the grounds for a University--who knew! The blue jean paper and multi-colored squares paper came from a pack I bought last week on clearance for $1.99(K & Co. 36 double-sided)! I use scrapbook.com for a lot of my titles and found this one fit my picture perfectly. I wanted a few more elements representing my picture than the sketch called for so I added the sun, the cute garden tools and grass border. close-up of the butterflies that were pop dotted. I love the way these turned out with the multi-colored paper!
I curled the garden tools and the grass border was pop dotted in random spots for added dimension.

The cowboy girl

This layout is for the 2/19 sketch at http://www.stuckonusketches.blogspot.com/. The beautiful sketch is an original by Liz Qualman.
This is also being linked up to http://www.graphicsfairy.blogspot.com/ for brag monday. Karen has such beautiful images that she so generously shares with all of us--thank you Karen!
The photo's are of my youngest daughter when she was in daycare. Once a year this company would come to her school and take pictures of the children on the ponies. I think I have four years of these but this particular year I had the three different poses. When I saw the fabulous cowgirl image from graphics fairy and the fabulous sketch by Liz, I knew they would be perfect for my photo's. I also used an image of Karen's called cowboy ledger that I cut the picket fence out of and lined it up so the cowboy and dollar amount showed up (close-ups lower down) and also used the ledger image for my flourishes. Used cricut accent essentials at 2" & 3" for the flourishes, paperdoll dress up for the little horse @ 2" and the picket fence @ 1", mini monograms for the scallop circle behind the cowgirl image. Prima flowers, buttons, brads for small flower centers, paper from stash and lots of inking. I can't believe I have no doodling!!

Sugar Meltdown

I used a july 09 pagemaps sketch for this layout. My oldest daughter (with my sister) back in the 80's got into some sugary sweets on Christmas day and made quite a mess of herself and then had a little bit of a meltdown. I used paper doilies that I got at the dollar tree. The little cake squares at the bottom are from an image at http://www.graphicsfairy.blogspot.com/ that I cut into individual squares, inked and pop dotted. The little buttons in between the cakes are "dress it up christmas cookies" buttons. All the edges of the lighter brown paper have been sanded so the white core would show through; patterned paper photo mats I used fiskars corner punch and all the paper on the layout came from Debbie Mumm harvest & holiday stack. The fonts are accent cookie dough and ravie cut with scal.

I used pom poms to stuff the foil of the ferrero candy wrappers.

Trick or Treat

This layout is for the 2/12 sketch over at http://www.stuckonusketches.blogspot.com/. I can't believe I was going to use hot pink instead of purple and then grabbed that pumpkin paper and thought how cute--completely forgetting the sketch challenge was to use red or pink and I already posted my link!! Ugh!! Well on to the layout as it did turn out. My sister made the adorable rainbow brite outfit. The trick or treat title, little candy along the picture and candy corn corners are from a recollections 3D sticker pack that I bought for 99 cents! The little ghosts floating out of the treat bag are from a Jolee's sticker pack. Printed rainbow brite and then used mini monograms to cut the scallop circles; plantin schoolbook for circle behind the word trick and then used cuttlebug d'vine swirls embossing folder and inked. Used Martha Stewart drippy goo border punch on the edges of printed papers and used swiss dots embossing folder on the green stars and moon paper. Lots of inking and doodling.

150 lb. pumpkin

This layout is for the 2/5 sketch challenge over http://www.stuckonusketches.blogspot.com/.
The pictures are of my oldest daughter back in 1985. She was asked to draw a name for the halloween basket giveaway and the store manager gave her this 150 lb. pumpkin that was on display. With the help of several people, it found it's way to our home. I ended up making Thanksgiving pumpkin pies out of it--a lot of work but so worth it! I didn't actually take a picture of my pies at the time but thought it a very important part of this layout so I printed a pie off the internet.
